We do not need a government run health care program.  Instead, we need to have a private health care system that is affordable, flexible, and reliable.  This can be accomplished through the market place and competition.  One of the simplest ways to reduce healthcare costs is to have meaningful tort reform.
 
When comparing Medicare to private insurances, the private sector has become more generous in covering health care costs associated with hospital and physician services since 1970.  In essence, private insurance grew more than 18 percent faster than comparable Medicare spending. 

Thus, the role of the federal government in healthcare is to simply STAY OUT!  Healthcare should be left to individuals and to the states.  It is your choice to determine what kind, how much, or how little healthcare you want to have.
